Geraniol Biocide:

Since the late 1990s, the European Union in accordance with member states has transferred responsibility for evaluating chemicals to the private sector.
A biocidal product is a substance intending to destroy, deter, render harmless, prevent the action of, or exert a controlling effect on any harmful organism by any means other than mere physical or mechanical action.
In the frame of the Biocide Directive, TerpeneTech has constituted an independent evaluation dossier for the use of Geraniol as a biocidal active ingredient Insecticide and repellent. TerpeneTech is now listed in the article 95 list of identified Supplier.

TERPENETECH BIOCIDE ACTIVE SUBSTANCE IDENTIFIED SUPPLIER
Since December 1, 2015 TerpeneTech Ltd has received official notification from ECHA (European Chemical Agency).
This notification has approved TerpeneTech’s submission for inclusion in the List of Active Substances and Suppliers (Article 95 list) UNDER ARTICLE 95(1) REGULATION (EU) No 528/2012:

Geraniol is a molecule mainly contained in the essential oils of lemongrass and Palmarosa. It is also found in other plants such as thyme and pine.
Geraniol is naturally present in these plants to help protect them against insects.
Today Geraniol is used in all areas of chemistry. It can be found in perfumes, cosmetics, plant protection and Biocide markets.
